About Philharmonic.fm and The Dwelley Collection.
Nestled within the heart of our collection at Philharmonic.fm lies a treasure trove of auditory history, a private assemblage of classical music that spans thousands vinyl records, reel-to-reel tapes, and original scores. The Dwelley collection is more than just an accumulation of music; it's a legacy of love, loss, and the transcendent power of melody.
Mary Dwelley, a beacon of kindness and practical wisdom, touched the lives of many, including mine, in ways that left indelible marks on my soul. To me, she was more than I understood at the time; she was a second mother whose nurturing spirit and heartfelt kindness will always be remembered. Her tragic departure from this world was abrupt, but her impact forever lasting.
Robert Dwelley left behind a legacy through his work as a musician, composer, and founding director of Rochester, NY's Madrigalia, as well as through his extensive music library you're enjoying here at Philharmonic.fm. Though Robert passed away in 1992 at the young age of 42, his presence isn't lost as his voice and work is heard everyday at noon PST here at Philharmonic.fm.
I hope the Dwelley Collection stands as a sanctuary for those who seek peace in the timeless beauty of classical compositions and a reminder of the personal connections that music can forge across time and space.
